Jake Tapper just revealed who Trump wants to replace Jeff Sessions

- April 05, 2018

The Trump White House is so absurdly volatile that it’s surprising if the administration manages to make it through a single week without a major departure. The smart ones have jumped ship to escape the eventual implosion of the Trump presidency. Others have been simply kicked to the curb when our infamously fickle president grew tired or annoyed with them.

The recent,  disturbing announcement that National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster will be replaced on April 9th with the bloodthirsty hawk John Bolton — who has never heard of a war that doesn’t turn him on — is just the latest departure news. It certainly won’t be the last.

The smart bet seems to be that Attorney General Jeff Sessions will eventually be given his termination notice. The president has resented Sessions ever since he recused himself (properly) from the Russia investigation, ceding oversight to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein. Clearly, our conman president wanted Sessions to run interference for him and help obstruct special counsel Mueller’s investigation. Trump has confessed in private on numerous occasion that he regrets appointing Sessions.

Now, CNN’s Jake Tapper reports that Trump has been considering giving Sessions’ job to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. The idea displays Trump’s trademark lack of good judgment, given the fact that Pruitt is himself currently embroiled in multiple scandals.

Just today it was revealed that Pruitt tried to abuse emergency sirens to help him get through D.C. traffic more quickly. He’s a deeply corrupt, deeply unqualified man. In other words, exactly the type of person Trump gravitates towards. CNN‘s source stated that Trump has been trying to shield Pruitt from the storm of criticism swirling around him specifically because he wants to make him Attorney General.
