Vice President Mike Pence is headline a Wednesday evening fundraiser for a 2018 candidate he knows well — his brother, Greg.
The vice president will host a donor event for Greg Pence at the Trump International Hotel in Washington. Greg Pence, a businessman and Marine veteran, is running for Indiana 6th Congressional District, which Mike Pence held prior to becoming Indiana governor in 2013.
The fundraiser is expected to raise around $300,000, according to a person close to the vice president.
Pence’s brother, who launched his campaign for Congress last fall, has vowed to be an ally of the president if elected. The fundraiser comes ahead of Indiana’s May 8 primary, when Greg Pence will face off against several lesser-known Republican rivals.
Mike Pence has been crisscrossing the country over the past few months, raising money and holding events for Republicans up for election in 2018.
