President Donald Trump previewed the message he will deliver in his historical trip to the World Economic Summit in Switzerland on Thursday: "peace and prosperity."
The president made the declaration upon arriving at the elite annual summit in Davos Thursday afternoon local time.
Trump is expected to make an address to the full forum on Friday, in which he will outline his vision for the "American First" agenda he summarized before global political and economic leaders.
The president is slated to meet with several foreign government officials on Thursday, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and British Prime Minister Theresa May.
Friday he will meet with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who was chosen as the next chairman of the African Union, and Swiss President Alain Berset, leader of the host nation.
Several members of the Trump administration, including delegation leader Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, arrived in Davos on Wednesday, participating in panels to discuss Trump's vision for the U.S. in the global marketplace.
